Open and ready when you need us

Kids are kids, even during a pandemic. They catch colds and get injured. They need vaccinations and routine checkups. They have specialty care needs. Delaying these appointments can not only be harmful to your child’s immediate health, but their long-term wellbeing.

That is why we’ve kept our offices open, implementing additional safety measures and telehealth options, so you always have access to safe, high-quality pediatric care.

How we are keeping you and your family
safe during COVID-19

No one will come to work sick

This has always been our policy, but we are being extra cautious in the current climate. Please be aware that there may be occasions when we will need to make last-minute cancellations or location/provider changes due to staffing issues.

We’re limiting the number of people in our facilities

For the safety of our patients, families, physicians and staff, we are limiting the number of people who can accompany a patient. Please check choc.org/visiting for the latest visitor guidelines by location.

You are going to be asked more questions

Your history of potential COVID-19 exposure, travel history and recent symptoms are clues to your family’s risk. We are screening on the phone and prior to entry into our clinical areas.

Our cleaning procedures are rigorous

We will continue to thoroughly sanitize our offices to the most rigorous standards. Clinical areas will be cleaned multiple times per day, in addition to the medical-grade sanitization we have always provided.

We’re keeping at-risk children safe

Children who are at risk for COVID-19 will be evaluated in their cars. When you arrive, please call the office and one of our physicians will come to you in your car and perform appropriate testing there.

You may be asked to see your doctor virtually

Many appointments can be done through telehealth, which means you can interact with a provider from the comfort and safety of your home using a computer or mobile.

Safe in office visits

CHOC has taken important new precautions to protect everyone who comes to one of their locations. From pre-screening patients to enacting additional cleaning procedures, CHOC’s experts are working tirelessly to ensure families aren’t delaying care due to fear of COVID-19.

Telehealth Appointments
are Available

Primary and specialty care physicians can safely and appropriately deliver care for many conditions with a telehealth visit via a smart phone, tablet or computer. During the appointment, you will see and hear from a physician or specialist and will be able to interact, ask questions, and answer your provider’s questions.

Your child’s provider will determine if a telehealth appointment is ideal for you when you call to make an appointment.
